The Certificate in Applied Genomics is an online, part-time 15-credit program for working professionals that can be completed in 2 years. Upon completion the certificate participants will understand and appreciate the science behind the headlines and be able to use this knowledge to impact the bioscience or healthcare industries.

As human genomics research rapidly moves from promise to practice, the importance of foundational knowledge in human genomics and its applications for healthcare and drug discovery is becoming more vital for professionals in a wide variety of settings.

Summer Term
Applied Genomics – Translating Concept to Clinic 1.5 credits
Applied Genomics Capstone 1.5 credits – taken as last class
Fall Term
Human Variation and Disease 3 credits – Fall 1 or 2
DNA & RNA Sequencing 3 credits – Fall 1 or 2
Spring Term
Clinical Genetics: Actionability and Genome Editing 3 credits – Spring 1 or 2
Epigenomics 3 credits – Spring 1 or 2
The Admissions Committee is made up of faculty and senior administrators who will thoroughly and conscientiously review each application. Applications will be considered in the context of the total applicant pool, as well as in relationship to our general admissions standards. We do not use arbitrary grade point or test score cutoffs.
All admissions decisions are final for the academic year in which they are rendered.
